Job Title: Independent Director – Board of Directors

Location: Australia (Meetings may be held in person or via video conferencing)

The Australian Orthopaedic Association is seeking to appoint a third Independent Director to its Board to take the place of a current director whose tenure expires later this year.

This non-executive role is designed to bring impartiality, specialist expertise, and diverse thinking to the Board’s deliberations. The successful candidate will not be a current or past member of the AOA and will possess a high level of professional acumen across several key domains, contributing to the organisation’s long-term strategy and good governance.

Enterprise Risk, Governance & Legal Lead - YOURTURN

The Head of Governance, Risk & Legal (& Company Secretary) leads Youturn’s governance, enterprise risk management and legal stewardship functions. The role sits within the CEO’s Office and exists to strengthen organisational coherence, uphold sound governance, support the Board and executive, and ensure enterprise decision-making occurs within clear legal, risk and delegation settings.

The role is accountable for the design, integrity, oversight and ongoing effectiveness of Youturn’s governance and risk architecture, including Board and committee support, enterprise risk management, legal oversight, policy stewardship, delegations, and internal audit coordination. The role works closely with the CEO, Board, executive leaders and service and functional portfolios to ensure Youturn’s growth and service delivery are supported by strong governance, sound judgment and disciplined
assurance.

The role is not responsible for owning operational quality or service delivery. Rather, it provides the governance, risk and legal guardrails within which those functions operate.
